Build Custom Industrial Machinery from the Ground Up

Speedway Packaging Machinery designs and manufactures custom packaging machinery and automated equipment for industrial customers. We are looking for a skilled Machine Fitter & Machinist to join our shop team.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys precision mechanical work, machining, fitting, assembly, and solving practical problems. You will work directly with custom-built machinery and be involved in turning drawings, machined components, and fabricated parts into complete working equipment.

The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work across machine fitting, conventional machining, mechanical assembly, fabrication, pneumatics, equipment testing, and machine installation.

Key Responsibilities

· Fit, assemble, and align mechanical components for custom machinery

· Machine components using conventional mills and engine lathes

· Measure and inspect parts using appropriate precision measuring tools

· Read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials

· Determine appropriate machining and fitting methods from drawings and specifications

· Perform drilling, tapping,



reaming, fitting, deburring, and other bench work

· Assemble shafts, bearings, gears, drives, pneumatic components, and other mechanical systems

· Modify and adjust components to achieve proper fit, alignment, and machine operation

· Assist with fabrication and welding as required

· Install pneumatic components and tubing

· Participate in machine assembly, testing, and troubleshooting

· Identify and correct mechanical problems during assembly and testing

· Assist with machine installation and commissioning at customer locations when required

· Maintain accurate and organized work practices

· Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean shop environment
