Overview

McCowan Drug Mart is looking for a reliable and patient-focused Community Pharmacist to join our team on a contract basis from January through August 2027, providing maternity leave coverage.

We are an established community pharmacy that values personalized patient care, teamwork, and a positive work environment. We are looking for someone who is confident working independently while also being a collaborative and supportive member of our pharmacy team.

Responsibilities

- Provide safe and effective prescription dispensing and medication management
- Counsel patients on medications, health conditions, and treatment plans
- Conduct medication reviews and provide appropriate clinical recommendations
- Assess prescriptions and identify potential drug therapy issues
- Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed
- Provide vaccinations and other expanded scope pharmacy services, as authorized
- Support day-to-day pharmacy operations and ensure excellent patient service
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all regulatory requirements




- Work collaboratively with pharmacy assistants and other team members

Qualifications

- Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Previous community pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working independently and making sound clinical decisions
- Qualified, dependable, and patient-focused
- Experience with Fillware is an asset
- Chinese language proficiency (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) is considered an asset to support communication with our diverse patient population.

We are looking for someone who can confidently lead the pharmacy during this period while maintaining a welcoming, patient-focused environment and supporting our experienced pharmacy team.

Pay: $52.00-$60.00 per hour
