Soubliere Constructors is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with strong expertise in Cold-Formed Steel (CFS) design and detailing to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a structural engineering professional who combines strong technical design capabilities with practical knowledge of cold-formed steel framing systems, structural detailing, building codes, and construction coordination.

What You’ll Do

- Develop detailed structural designs and engineering solutions for cold-formed steel framing systems, including load-bearing and non-load-bearing wall systems, floor assemblies, roof systems, headers, connections, and other structural components.
- Perform structural engineering calculations and analysis in accordance with applicable engineering principles, building codes, design standards, and project specifications.
- Prepare and review cold-formed steel shop drawings, fabrication drawings, erection drawings, and structural details for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with engineering requirements.
- Review architectural and structural drawings to determine project requirements and develop practical CFS framing and detailing solutions.
- Perform calculations for structural loads, member sizing, connections, deflection, lateral systems, and other applicable design requirements.
- Apply a strong understanding of Part 4 loading requirements under the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and National Building Code of Canada (NBC).
- Develop and review structural models using applicable 3D structural modelling and design software.
- Coordinate structural designs with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and other building systems to identify and resolve design conflicts.
- Work closely with Project Managers, clients, consultants, suppliers, detailers,



and field teams throughout the design and construction process.
- Review project information and identify practical, cost-effective, and constructible engineering solutions.
- Review RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, field conditions, and design changes and provide appropriate engineering direction.
- Provide technical support during construction and assist in resolving structural and installation-related issues.
- Conduct site visits, when required, to review existing conditions, installation progress, and conformance with structural design requirements.
- Prepare engineering reports, calculations, specifications, and other technical documentation as required.
- Ensure engineering work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable codes, standards, project requirements, and professional engineering practices.

What We’re Looking For

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada, or eligible for registration.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant structural engineering experience, preferably within the consulting, construction, or building-design industry.
- Demonstrated experience with cold-formed steel (CFS) structural design and detailing.
- Strong understanding of cold-formed steel framing systems, connections, load paths, structural behaviour, and constructability.
- Strong knowledge of structural design principles and applicable Canadian building codes and standards.
- Good understanding of the Ontario Building Code (OBC), National Building Code of Canada (NBC),



building permit processes, and applicable structural engineering regulations and standards.
- · Experience using structural analysis and design software and 3D structural modelling tools.
- · Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit; experience with additional CFS detailing or structural modelling software is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience preparing and reviewing structural calculations, engineering drawings, shop drawings, and technical reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and project deadlines.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Valid G driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for occasional travel to project sites. Mileage for approved work-related travel will be reimbursed.
