About the Position

Canadian Tarpaulin Manufacturers Ltd. is seeking a Sales Representative to join their local manufacturing firm. This role is designed to help drive sales and contribute to business growth by servicing existing accounts, obtaining orders, and establishing new accounts through both prospecting and engaging with the company’s extensive list of current customers. The position also involves assisting with customer service and inside counter sales.

Products and Markets

The company’s products are distributed through both wholesale and retail channels, reaching a diverse customer base. Clients include trucking and trucking supply companies, contractors, agricultural enterprises, lumber mills, mining sector organizations, and companies in oil and other resource industries. The main markets served are agricultural, trucking, industrial, and recreational. Sales experience in any of these sectors is considered beneficial.

Role Responsibilities

This is a hands-on position within a mid-sized company environment, where building personal relationships with customers is valued. The successful candidate will engage in a wide variety of tasks, such as prospecting and some cold calling, writing production orders, quoting and measuring jobs on-site, and assisting customers in our retail space.

Candidate Qualifications

Customer service experience, particularly in industrial markets, is an asset.



The company is seeking someone with an outgoing and positive attitude, strong organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Experience in estimating and drafting is helpful. Preference is given to candidates with demonstrated prospecting skills and those who excel at developing longstanding customer relationships.
