Express Employment Professionals is hiring on behalf of our client for an experienced Steel Fabricator to join their team in Abbotsford, BC!

Our client is looking for a skilled fabricator who can contribute to a team environment, work on a variety of challenging projects, and support the fabrication process from layout through to completed assembly.

Location: Abbotsford, BC

Pay: $35.00–$42.50 per hour

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Work Setting: In person

Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, technical instructions, and applicable codes and standards.
- Fabricate sub-assemblies and complete assemblies based on work procedures and shop drawings.
- Fabricate steel components and structures, then assemble them into completed units.
- Assist with designing and constructing templates, jigs, and fixtures.
- Use overhead cranes to assist with fabrication activities.
- Measure and verify workpieces using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
- Complete mathematical calculations, including angle and layout calculations.
- Perform quality control spot checks to ensure work meets specifications.
- Operate a variety of heavy and light machinery, including drills, welding machines, saws, press brakes, shears, cutting torches, grinders, and plasma torches.
- Report production errors or concerns to the lead hand or supervisor.
- Maintain a clean,



organized, and safe work environment.
- Support material flow throughout the shop.
- Mentor apprentices and assist with their skill development.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Documented Red Seal Fabricator certification.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong mechanical and industrial knowledge.
- Proficiency in mathematics, particularly trigonometry.
- Experience with mechanical machinery is an asset.
- Ability to interpret shop drawings and technical information.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and recognize when assistance is required.
- Ability to climb ladders to access work areas.
- Commitment to following workplace safety policies and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Fabrication Experience

Candidates should be prepared to discuss their experience with:

- Flux Core welding
- Metal Core welding
- Hard Wire welding
- Layout and fitting
- Fabricating assemblies from drawings
- Completing fabrication projects from scratch
- Working on large fabrication assemblies
