Overview
Midwest Protection Group Inc. is currently recruiting dependable and professional Mobile Security Patrol Members to join our Edmonton operations.
This position is well suited to individuals who are comfortable working independently, making decisions in the field, and responding to a variety of security-related situations throughout a shift. It may also be a strong opportunity for individuals interested in gaining practical experience related to law enforcement, policing, corrections, or public safety.
Mobile Security Patrol Members travel between assigned client properties and are responsible for completing scheduled and unscheduled patrols, identifying and addressing security concerns, responding to incidents, enforcing property rules, and documenting their activities.
The position requires excellent situational awareness, professionalism, reliability, and the ability to remain composed when dealing with challenging or unpredictable situations.
Hiring bonus available following successful completion of the 90-day probationary period.
Responsibilities
As a Mobile Security Patrol Member, your responsibilities may include:
- Conducting vehicle and foot patrols at assigned commercial, residential, and other client properties.
- Completing scheduled patrols within designated timeframes throughout the shift.
- Performing random patrols and security checks as directed by Operations.
- Identifying and addressing trespassing, suspicious behaviour, property damage, theft, vandalism, and other security concerns.
- Responding to alarms, calls for service, disturbances, and security incidents.
- Enforcing client-specific property rules and security procedures professionally and consistently.
- Removing or directing unauthorized individuals from private property when appropriate.
- Conducting arrests when legally authorized and necessary in accordance with applicable laws and company procedures.
- Inspecting buildings, entrances, exits, parking areas, and surrounding property for security or safety concerns.
- Communicating with police, fire, EMS, clients, and Midwest Protection Group Operations when required.
- Completing clear, accurate, and detailed patrol and incident reports.
- Maintaining professional communication and conduct when interacting with clients, members of the public, and emergency services.
- Operating company patrol vehicles responsibly and reporting vehicle or equipment concerns.
- Following all company policies, post orders, site instructions, and established response procedures.
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Hold a valid Alberta Security Services and Investigators Act (SSIA) Security Worker Licence.
- Hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and be comfortable operating a patrol vehicle.
- Be reliable and capable of working independently with limited supervision.
- Demonstrate robust observation and situational-awareness skills.
- Be able to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing.
- Be capable of preparing accurate security and incident reports.
- Remain calm and exercise appropriate judgment during confrontational or high-pressure situations.
- Be comfortable working at multiple locations throughout a shift.
- Be punctual and able to complete patrol assignments within required timeframes.
Previous experience in security, mobile patrol, loss prevention, law enforcement, corrections, or a related public-safety environment is considered an asset but is not necessarily required.
Pay: From $23.63 per hour
