Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Chinese Teacher to inspire 5-16 years old students to develop their Mandarin language skills and cultural understanding. In this role, you will deliver engaging and high-quality lessons. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help students build confidence in their communication abilities while ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
● Plan and conduct high-quality Mandarin language courses
● Communicate with parents via school accounts and provide parents with timely feedback on student behavior and homework. Teachers should not contact with parents using personal contact approaches
● Design proper assessments as, for and of students' learning process
● Provide parents with detailed end-of-term reports
● Continually reflect on teaching experience and improve
● Take an active role in weekly professional development sessions
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or have completed a post-secondary degree in Education or a related field in Canada.
- Candidates who have been in Canada for more than one year should have work or volunteer experience within the Canadian education system or local community.
- Candidates who completed their undergraduate degree in China should have graduated from a recognized 985/211 university with a robust academic record.
- Candidates who completed their undergraduate degree in Canada or the United States are required to provide their high school transcript and GPA, as well as a Chinese writing sample.
- Commitment to participating in the school’s weekly professional development and teaching meetings
- Currently based in Toronto.
- Strong English communication skills; IELTS 6.5 or above is required.
Pay: $20.00-$60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3.0 – 10.0 per week
