About Adedamola Atelier

Adedamola Atelier is a growing fashion house based in Edmonton, Alberta, specializing in custom-made clothing, ready-to-wear pieces, alterations, occasion wear, and contemporary designs for women, men, and children.

We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Tailor / Fashion Designer to join our production team.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position for someone who is confident in garment construction and can take a design from concept or reference through to a professionally finished garment.

The ideal candidate should have strong sewing and tailoring skills, a good understanding of garment construction, and the ability to work with different fabrics, styles, measurements, and body types.

Key Responsibilities

- Cut, sew, construct, and finish garments to a high professional standard
- Interpret sketches, reference images, measurements, and design instructions
- Take accurate measurements and translate them into well-fitting garments
- Draft, modify, and work with garment patterns
- Construct custom womenswear and/or menswear
- Perform fittings and make necessary garment adjustments
- Carry out alterations, resizing, repairs, and garment modifications
- Work confidently with different fabrics, including delicate and structured materials
- Install zippers, linings, interfacing, boning, fastenings, and other garment components as required
- Maintain neat, accurate stitching and high-quality finishing




- Work closely with the Creative Director and production team
- Complete assigned garments within agreed production timelines
- Maintain sewing equipment and keep the production area organized

Requirements

- Proven professional experience as a Tailor, Seamstress, Dressmaker, Fashion Designer, or Garment Maker
- Strong sewing, cutting, and garment-construction skills
- Good understanding of pattern drafting and garment fitting
- Ability to work independently from measurements, sketches, or reference images
- Excellent attention to detail and finishing
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining quality
- Experience creating custom garments is highly preferred
- Experience with African fashion, occasion wear, bridal, corsetry, menswear, or contemporary fashion is an asset
- Reliable, professional, and comfortable working as part of a growing fashion team
