JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring all products meet consistent, high-quality standards, monitoring products at various production stages, preparing related documentation, and helping maintain the quality assurance program to company standards. .
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Support the quality management system (QMS)
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of core processes
- Perform receiving, in-process and final inspections, witness manufacturing tests to ensure products adhere to company quality standards
- Prepare final product documentation, including calibration certificates, Certificates of Conformance, customer specific MRBs
- Document, maintain, and participate in resolving customer complaints, non-conformances, corrective/preventive actions
- Assist in the development of company procedures and work instructions
- Ensure adherence to provincial legal, health and safety standards
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing
WHAT DO I NEED TO SUCCEED?
- Three (3) to five (5) years production, manufacturing or related experience in an ISO 9001 environment
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable industry standards would be an asset (API Q1, API 6A)
- ISO 9001 auditing experience; Lead or Internal Auditor
- Knowledge of ISO 17025 requirements would be an asset
- Knowledge of NDE inspections would be an asset
- University or technical degree in engineering or sciences preferred
- An equivalent combination of education and experience, or training may be considered
- Analysis, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate under deadlines while still meeting company standards
- Knowledge of and experience in QMS auditing
- Excellent math abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods
- Knowledge of and experience in implementing best practices and continuous improvement
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with aptitude to learn new systems
