Our Canadian campus is currently recruiting an experienced Middle & High School Mathematics & Science Teacher for an international teaching assignment at our China campus in Ezhou, Hubei Province.
The China campus delivers Canadian/Ontario-based academic programming to international students. This position offers educators the opportunity to gain meaningful international teaching experience while continuing to teach within the Ontario curriculum and OSSD framework.
As part of an education group operating in both Canada and China, our teachers may also have opportunities for cross-campus assignments, professional development, and future internal mobility between our China and Canadian campuses.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, engaging, and student-focused educator to teach Mathematics and Science at the middle and high school levels.
The successful candidate will be responsible for independently planning and delivering courses aligned with the Ontario curriculum, developing engaging STEM learning experiences, assessing student achievement, supporting students with different academic and English-language backgrounds, and contributing positively to the broader school community.
This position is particularly suited to educators who are interested in combining international teaching experience with long-term professional development within a Canada–China education group.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver middle and high school Mathematics and Science courses in accordance with the Ontario curriculum and applicable OSSD requirements.
- Independently develop lesson plans, instructional materials, assignments, quizzes, tests, laboratory activities, projects, and other assessment tasks.
- Design engaging STEM-based learning experiences that develop students’ critical thinking, scientific inquiry, problem-solving, and independent learning skills.
- Assess and evaluate student achievement using appropriate Ontario curriculum assessment and evaluation practices.
- Provide students with timely, meaningful, and constructive feedback.
- Establish and maintain an inclusive, respectful, engaging, and student-centred classroom environment.
- Apply effective classroom management strategies and maintain high expectations for student learning and behaviour.
- Differentiate instruction to support students with varying academic abilities and levels of English proficiency.
- Monitor student academic progress and maintain accurate records of assessment and achievement.
- Prepare student progress reports and communicate regularly with homeroom teachers, academic administrators, and parents regarding student learning and development.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, student support, and school-wide academic initiatives.
- Participate actively in school events and contribute positively to the school community.
- Support or lead extracurricular activities, STEM clubs, academic competitions, enrichment programs, or other student activities as assigned.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Science, Education, Engineering, or another relevant STEM-related discipline.
- A minimum of two years of formal classroom teaching experience, preferably at the middle or high school level.
- Previous experience teaching Ontario OSSD Mathematics and/or Science courses is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Mathematics and Science curricula.
- Familiarity with Ontario assessment and evaluation practices and the OSSD academic framework.
- Native or near-native English proficiency, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience teaching adolescents and/or international students.
- The ability to effectively support students with different levels of English proficiency and academic preparation.
- Patience, professionalism, cultural awareness, adaptability, and a student-centred approach to education.
- The ability to work collaboratively and professionally within an international and multicultural school environment.
- Willingness and ability to relocate to China for the initial teaching assignment.
Compensation & Perks
We offer a competitive international compensation and benefits package, including:
- Annual salary of CAD 58,000–68,000, with final compensation determined based on qualifications, teaching credentials, and relevant experience.
- Approximately 18–22 teaching periods per week.
