Reports To: The Band Manager and Finance Director

Job Overview:

Marten Falls First Nation is seeking a knowledgeable and dependable IT Technician / IT Administrator to provide technology support across its offices in Marten Falls First Nation and Thunder Bay.

This is a hands-on position responsible for supporting the day-to-day technology needs of the organization, maintaining existing systems, installing and setting up new equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and helping manage the overall IT environment.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently and travelling between Marten Falls First Nation and the two Thunder Bay office locations as required.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Provide IT support to staff in Marten Falls and Thunder Bay
- Set up, install and configure computers, laptops, printers, phones and other technology
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and connectivity issues
- Set up new employees with computers, email accounts, software and system access
- Maintain and support office networks, Wi-Fi and related equipment
- Manage Microsoft 365, email accounts, user access and permissions
- Install software, updates and security patches
- Maintain computers and other IT equipment and arrange repairs or replacement when required
- Assist with cybersecurity, antivirus protection, backups and data security
- Maintain an inventory of computers, phones,



software licences and other IT equipment
- Coordinate with outside technology providers and vendors when required
- Purchase or recommend appropriate IT equipment and software
- Support video conferencing and meeting technology
- Help establish and maintain IT procedures, security practices and documentation
- Respond to technology issues and provide practical support to staff
- Assist with planning future technology needs and improvements
- Perform other IT-related duties as required

Qualifications:

- Education, training or demonstrated experience in information technology, computer systems, networking or a related field
- Solid knowledge of computers, networks, Microsoft 365 and common business software
- Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting hardware and software
- Understanding of cybersecurity, data protection and backup practices
- Ability to troubleshoot problems independently and find practical solutions
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff
- Ability to manage multiple locations and priorities
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel
- Must be willing and able to travel to Marten Falls First Nation as required
