***COOK TO WORK IN A LONG-TERM CARE FACILITY. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN LTC**

We are looking for a full-time cook in Ft. Saskatchewan, AB. Someone who has a passion for the elderly and understands the importance of different textures in meal planning and serving will be best suited for this position.

Position details

The Cook will prepare meals for the Residents in the dining room. Responsible for following safe cooking practices and taking direction from the Food Services Manager. A variety of culinary tasks will be required, as well as standard cleaning tasks. May be required to assist in food ordering, receiving, and storage.

Qualifications:

- Formal training in quantity food preparation from a recognized training institution or school is preferred, or experience in quantity food preparation is preferred
- Must have food secure certificate level 1
- Previous experience in long-term care preferred
- Must be physically fit and in general good health with the ability to push, pull,



and lift a minimum of 50 lbs and be able to be on your feet for long periods of time.
- Effective written and oral communication skills in the English language
- Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and general safety
- Strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to stay focused
- Reliable with attendance, working all scheduled shifts in their entirety
- Explicit criminal record security clearance with Vulnerable Sector included (no more than 6 months old)
- The dress code is scrubs
- Must be able to work independently and as part of the interdisciplinary team
