We are looking for a passionate, patient, and enthusiastic Math & English Teacher to join our learning centre and work with students from Kindergarten to Grade 8.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, creates a positive and encouraging learning environment, and is committed to helping students strengthen their academic skills and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Math and English to students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 using our structured curriculum and learning materials.
- Teach small classes up to 5 students, allowing for individualized attention and meaningful student interaction.
- Help students build strong foundational skills in Math, reading, writing, grammar, and comprehension.
- Create a positive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Complete assigned lessons and activities within the scheduled class time.
- Communicate student progress and areas of improvement to parents when required.
- Maintain accurate attendance and student progress records.
- Support a well-organized and welcoming learning-centre workplace.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, English,
or a related field is required.
- OCT certification or equivalent teaching qualification is required.
- Previous classroom, tutoring, or teaching experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Math and English curriculum.
- Excellent communication and classroom-management skills.
- Patient, positive, and comfortable working with children of different ages and learning levels.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Availability for weekday evenings and/or weekends.
