For over 20 years, Larga Kivalliq has been operating a medical boarding home for patients and their escorts from Nunavut. Our services include accommodation, meals, ground transportation to and from the airport and medical appointments, and recreation services.

Position Overview

The Facilities Attendant is responsible for ensuring guest common areas are clean, tidy, organized, sufficiently stocked, and regularly inspected for damage, maintenance concerns, or required repairs. The position also supports Client Care and Programs by responding to guest requests, including assisting with luggage and providing supplies, amenities, or equipment. Additional responsibilities include supporting program activities and events through space preparation, set-up, and takedown, as well as providing operational assistance during busy periods, staffing shortages, or emergencies.

Shifts

- Full-Time, Monday – Friday 3pm–11pm
- Part-Time Saturday & Sunday 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm

Roles & Responsibilities

- Inspect guest common areas regularly to ensure they are clean, tidy, well organized, and free of debris.
- Ensure guest common areas, including the coffee area and main lounge, are sufficiently stocked with coffee, cups, lids, condiments, brochures, amenities, and other guest supplies.
- Monitor guest supplies, assist with inventory counts, and report low stock to the Spiritual/Wellness Advisor or On-Site Manager.
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces in guest common areas and Larga Kivalliq office areas.
- Inspect common-area furniture, equipment, and facilities for damage, maintenance concerns, or required repairs.
- Document and promptly report damage, maintenance concerns, repair needs, and safety hazards to the Spiritual/Wellness Advisor or On-Site Manager.
- Support Client Care and Programs staff in responding to guest requests.
- Assist guests with luggage and direct them to appropriate areas.




- Obtain and distribute supplies, amenities, or equipment requested by guests.
- Assist with events by preparing spaces, setting up, and taking down furniture, supplies, equipment, and materials.
- Support Recreation Services by posting event sign-up logs, setting up crafts and activities, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the recreation room
- Provide additional support to Client Care, Transportation, and Programs during busy periods, staffing shortages, or emergency situations.

Education & Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification is an asset.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certification is an asset.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Satisfactory criminal record, child abuse registry, and adult abuse registry checks are required.
- Works well under pressure in a high energy workplace.
- Detail oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks.

Salary

- Wage is $17.00 per hour.
