Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Finance Controller to join our team and work closely with our Accounting & Finance Lead.

This role is ideal for someone who brings strategic financial leadership but also has the technical accounting experience to understand and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of a growing business.

We are looking for someone who can see the bigger financial picture while still being comfortable getting into the details when required.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner closely with the Accounting & Finance Lead and senior leadership on financial strategy and business decisions
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning and financial analysis
- Review and oversee monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes
- Review financial statements, including P&L;, balance sheet and cash-flow reporting
- Maintain strong accounting policies, processes and internal controls
- Provide senior oversight of AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations and general ledger activity
- Review journal entries, accruals, adjustments and complex accounting matters
- Oversee GST/HST, tax compliance and year-end requirements
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors and other financial partners
- Identify financial risks, trends and opportunities and provide clear recommendations to leadership
- Improve financial reporting, accounting systems, processes and automation
- Support the continued development and mentorship of the accounting and finance team
- Identify and implement AI tools to streamline accounting, reporting,



forecasting and analysis, while maintaining data accuracy, security and internal controls
- Ensure financial information is accurate, timely and structured to support forecasting and decision-making

Qualifications

- Previous experience as a Controller, Corporate Controller, Director of Finance and/or CFO
- Strong hands-on Controller experience is required
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, reconciliations and internal controls
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management
- Solid knowledge of Canadian accounting and tax requirements
- Experience working with external accountants and auditors
- Strong accounting systems and process-improvement experience
- Strong working knowledge of AI and automation tools in finance, with experience incorporating them into accounting and reporting processes
- CPA designation preferred
- Excellent analytical, leadership and communication skills

Pay: From $130,000.00 per year
