About the role

Jumping Pebbles Daycare is a brand-new play based childcare centre opening in downtown Toronto, and we’re looking for a hands-on Childcare Centre Supervisor to help bring it to life.

You’ll shape the centre from the ground up, ready the space for opening, set up policies and routines, work with licensing, hire and lead the team, and build a warm, high-quality place where kids and families feel at home.

Under Ontario’s Child Care and Early Years Act, this is the centre’s designated Supervisor role, planning and directing the program, overseeing staff, and being responsible to the licensee.

What you’ll do

- Run day-to-day centre operations and keep staffing and supervision where they need to be
- Lead the opening of our new downtown daycare
- Work closely with the ownership team to get the centre ready for families
- Build practical policies, procedures, and systems that actually work on the floor
- Manage licensing and compliance, and keep a robust relationship with Ministry of Education licensing/program advisor
- Make sure we meet Ontario childcare licensing and regulatory requirements
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, schedule, and support educators and other staff
- Create a positive, qualified, supportive workplace culture
- Champion high-quality, developmentally appropriate, play-based programs
- Keep children’s health, safety, well-being, and individual needs front and centre
- Build real relationships with parents and families
- Keep clear staff, child, licensing, health and safety, and operational records
- Help with budgeting, purchasing, enrolment, and day-to-day admin
- Stay current on Ontario childcare regulations and best practices

What we’re looking for

- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- At least 2 years of experience providing licensed child care, and eligible for Ministry Director approval as the centre Supervisor.
- Prior experience as a Supervisor, Assistant Supervisor, or similar leadership role preferred
- Solid knowledge of Ontario childcare licensing requirements (CCEYA / O. Reg. 137/15)
- Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures
- Experience hiring, training, scheduling, and managing staff
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- A knack for building relationships with families, staff, licensing representatives, and community partners
- Comfort working independently and juggling priorities
- Genuine passion for high-quality care and early learning
- Valid Standard First Aid, including infant and child CPR, from a WSIB-recognized training provider.
- Vulnerable Sector Check and other required documentation

Pay: $32.00 per hour
