Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer / CAD CAM Estimator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming CNC machines to produce high-quality components and providing estimates in response to customer RFQs. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC operations, blueprint reading, and CAD/CAM programming, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Programming & Machining Support
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for milling and turning operations, including complex multi-axis programs.
- Utilize CAD software to design parts and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam) to generate machining instructions and toolpaths.
- Create setup sheets, tooling lists, and provide technical guidance to machinists.
CAD/CAM Estimating
- Analyze technical drawings and 3D models to determine machining strategy, material usage, and cycle time.
- Generate accurate cost estimates and quotations for customers based on labor, tooling, and material inputs.
- Work closely with sales and management to meet deadlines on quoting and job planning.
- Ability to Create Estimating Model.
Process Planning & Quality
- Conduct design-for-manufacturing (DFM) reviews to improve process capability and reduce costs.
- Ensure all programs and documentation comply with ISO 9001 quality requirements and Controlled Goods Program protocols.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a CNC programmer in a job shop or precision manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in Mastercam, SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD/CAM software).
- Strong knowledge of CNC operations, G-code, and machining principles (milling & turning).
- Experience in estimating cycle times, tool paths, and manufacturing costs.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.;
- Familiarity with the Controlled Goods Program or ITAR requirements is an asset.
Preferred Assets:
- Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machines.
- Background in aerospace, defense, or government manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of ERP or MRP systems for estimating and job tracking.

Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour
