Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and overall presentation of a residential Strata building. This role is responsible for keeping common areas clean, safe, and welcoming for residents, visitors, and building staff.

The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the building, including the lobby, hallways, elevators, gym, amenity rooms, parkade, garbage and recycling areas, and other shared spaces. Attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach are essential for this position.

Duties

- Perform routine and detailed cleaning of the building’s common areas, including:
- Lobby and entrance areas
- Hallways and elevators
- Gym and fitness areas
- Amenity rooms
- Parkade and storage areas
- Garbage and recycling areas
- Stairwells and other shared spaces
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, and maintain various types of flooring throughout the building.
- Clean and maintain windows, glass doors, mirrors, fixtures, and other visible surfaces.
- Dust and wipe down furniture, counters, handrails, doors, and other common-area surfaces.
- Maintain a clean and presentable appearance of amenity spaces and other resident-use areas.
- Empty garbage and recycling bins and ensure waste is properly disposed of in designated areas.
- Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, toilet paper, garbage bags, and other cleaning supplies as needed.
- Clean and maintain washrooms located in common areas.
- Monitor common areas and report damage, maintenance concerns, spills, hazards, or other issues to the appropriate person.




- Perform regular checks of the building to identify areas requiring additional cleaning or attention.
- Follow proper procedures for the safe use, storage, and handling of cleaning products and equipment.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor machines, buffers, and other equipment as required.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and safe environment during resident events or when common areas require additional attention.
- Complete other cleaning and building-related duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications

- Previous experience in residential, commercial, Strata, or building cleaning is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of general cleaning methods, products, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Ability to safely operate common cleaning equipment.
- Solid attention to detail and pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Positive communication skills and a professional, respectful approach when interacting with residents, visitors, and building staff.
- Ability to identify and report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or unusual activity in common areas.
- Physically able to perform regular cleaning duties, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving cleaning equipment and supplies.

Pay: $19.50-$22.50 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
