Hydra Landscaping is currently hiring for a full-time, year-round:
Turf Lead
This is a year-round position with responsibilities that change with the seasons.
From spring through fall, the Turf Lead is responsible for leading and completing turf maintenance and seasonal landscape services at condominium and commercial properties throughout Calgary. Duties include spring cleanup, gravel removal, turf maintenance, mowing, trimming, fall cleanup, and other seasonal landscape services.
During the winter season, the position transitions into commercial snow removal operations, including snow clearing, ice management, equipment operation, and assisting with the safe and productive completion of snow removal services at our properties.
The successful candidate will operate and maintain a variety of landscaping and snow removal equipment while helping lead a crew and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Hydra's standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and work alongside a landscaping crew to complete scheduled turf and landscape maintenance
- Complete spring cleanup, gravel removal, mowing, trimming, edging, blowing,
and fall cleanup
- Operate push mowers, ride-on mowers, trimmers, backpack blowers, power brooms, and other landscaping equipment
- Operate trucks and trailers safely and efficiently
- Assist with crew coordination, daily scheduling, and completion of assigned work
- Maintain a high standard of quality and attention to detail
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients when required
- Follow company safety policies, procedures, and equipment operating standards
- Transition into winter snow removal operations, including operating snow removal equipment and assisting with snow and ice management
- Work in varying weather conditions and maintain a positive, team-oriented approach throughout the year
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience operating backpack blowers, push mowers, and trimmers
- Previous experience operating ride-on mowers, including Walker, Gravely, Toro, or comparable equipment
- Previous experience operating trucks and trailers
- Previous landscaping or turf maintenance experience
- Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Strong work ethic and reliable attendance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency
- Willingness to learn and follow company-specific processes and procedures
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Leadership skills and the ability to take direction and provide direction to other crew members
Winter Snow Removal
As a year-round employee, the successful candidate will transition into our winter snow removal operations.
Winter responsibilities may include:
- Operating snow removal equipment
- Clearing sidewalks, pathways, parking areas, and other commercial properties
- Ice control and application of de-icing materials
- Assisting with pre- and post-storm preparation and cleanup
- Working extended or irregular hours during significant snow events
- Following safe operating procedures in challenging winter conditions
Previous commercial snow removal experience is an asset, but training will be provided to candidates with the right attitude, work ethic, and equipment experience.

Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
