Personal Support Worker - Port Credit, Mississauga - CAD$780.00/week

About the Client:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced caregiver to support a 97-year-old grandmother visiting from Saskatchewan for a family wedding celebration in Port Credit, Mississauga. She will be arriving on the evening of October 24th and departing the morning of October 26th, 2026. The grandmother requires full personal care support and supervision due to cognitive decline and incontinence management needs. She is likely on the autism spectrum with specific routines and preferences, and may occasionally make inappropriate comments due to diminished filter. She responds best to caregivers who are firm yet patient and do not take things personally. The family wants to ensure she can safely attend and enjoy the wedding while her children participate fully in the celebration.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overnight care and supervision for two nights in a hotel suite
- Assist with all personal care including bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Manage incontinence care including diaper changes and ensuring proper hygiene
- Provide medication reminders and assistance as needed
- Support with mobility and transfers throughout the day
- Prepare light meals, reheat food, and provide mealtime reminders
- Offer cognitive support including redirection and safety supervision
- Accompany the grandmother to wedding events (transportation to/from venues is arranged separately)
- Maintain a calm, patient presence while being appropriately firm when needed
- Respect her routines and preferences while ensuring her safety and dignity
What We're Looking For:
- Experience providing personal care for elderly clients, particularly those with cognitive decline
- Comfortable managing incontinence care and maintaining dignity
- Ability to remain calm and qualified when faced with challenging behaviors or inappropriate comments
- Strong communication skills in English
- Patient yet firm demeanor to provide appropriate boundaries
- Reliable and consistent approach to care
- Experience with mobility assistance and transfers
- Comfortable working overnight shifts
- Understanding of neurodivergent behaviors and sensory needs
Schedule:
October 24th evening through October 26th morning, 2026. 24th, 4pm - 10pm 25th (Wedding day), 8am - 10pm 26th, 8am - 2pm
26 hours total, at $30/hr
