Course Title: General Linear Algebra and Calculus for Business and Economics (MATH 1613 WI01)
Contract Term: December 1, 2026 - April 30, 2027
Course Schedule: Winter Term: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 10:30am - 11:20am
Course Format: In-person at Acadia University
Employee Group: Acadia University Faculty Association
Stipend Amount: The current Per Course stipend for this appointment is specified in Appendices H and I of the 17th Collective Agreement.

Course Description: Linear equations and their graphs. Systems of linear equations and linear inequalities. Polynomials, exponential and logarithmic functions. Vector and matrix algebra. Derivatives and optimization. Applications to business and economics are integrated throughout the course. Emphasis is on understanding how problems are formulated mathematically and on interpretation of mathematically-expressed real-world problems.

Math 1613 is a terminal course taken, primarily, by students studying Business and Economics.

Multiple sections of Math 1613 at Acadia are taught in coordination with one another, and the successful candidate shall coordinate with the other instructors.

Qualifications: Master's or PhD in Mathematics/Statistics or a related discipline.
