Overview:
We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused DZ Brine Truck Driver to join our winter operations team. The primary responsibility of this role is to safely transport and deliver liquid brine to our winter operations sites. The driver may also assist with applying brine to designated routes and properties as required.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a manual transmission DZ brine truck to transport and deliver liquid brine to assigned locations.
- Load and unload brine safely and efficiently.
- Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules.
- Apply brine to designated areas as required.
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Monitor brine levels and equipment during operation.
- Report any vehicle, equipment, or brine system issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate delivery and vehicle records as required.
- Keep the assigned truck clean and in valuable working condition.
- Follow all company Health & Safety policies and applicable transportation requirements.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding deliveries, road conditions, weather, and any issues encountered.
- Assist with other winter operations duties as required.
Qualifications
- Valid DZ driver's licence.
- Experience operating a manual transmission commercial vehicle is required.
- Clean and acceptable driver's abstract.
- Previous commercial driving experience.
- Experience operating a brine, salt, fuel, or similar delivery truck is an asset.
- Strong understanding of commercial vehicle safety and daily inspections.
- Reliable and able to work independently.
- Good communication and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in winter weather conditions.
- Available for overnight, weekend, holiday, and on-call storm operations as required.
