We Think You Should Be Working Here and Here’s Why!

4Elem Technologies serves the manufacturing sector by providing precision waterjet cutting and custom metal fabrication solutions using advanced technology across a wide variety of materials.

But what really makes this opportunity stand out is the company behind the work.

We've had a long-standing relationship with 4Elem Technologies, and this is a client we genuinely enjoy recruiting for. They have great management, a strong and down-to-earth team, a relaxed working environment, and real growth potential for someone who wants to become an important part of the business.

This isn't a big corporate environment where you're just another employee. It's a smaller operation where your experience, ideas and contribution will actually matter.

And they're growing.

Metal Fabrication Estimator /Senior Project Development

Chilliwack, BC | $75,000–$110,000 on experience.

Our client in Chilliwack is one of those companies we genuinely enjoy recruiting for. We have a seasoned relationship with this client, great management. Great team. A down-to-earth environment. And genuine growth potential.

This is an established metal fabrication company with a solid team and management who is focused on growing the business. They aren't looking for someone to simply sit behind a desk and enter numbers. They want someone who understands the industry, enjoys dealing with customers and wants to become an important part of the business.

If you've spent time in the industries of: welding, fabricating, ironworking, working with structural steel or around construction sites, shop environment, architectural metal work and you're thinking, I'd like to get off the tools but still use everything I know, this could be a fantastic next step.

What You'll Be Doing:

This role is mouldable for the right experience, lets learn and grow together!

The biggest piece of this position is estimating and customer relationships.

- Prepare estimates and quotations for fabrication and construction projects.
- Understand drawings, PDFs, specifications and solid models.
- Determine realistic labour hours for welding, fabrication and installation.
- Follow up consistently and confidently on outstanding quotes.
- Build relationships with customers and keep opportunities moving.
- Source and evaluate material and labour costs.
- Prepare and submit professional quotation packages within deadlines.
- Maintain strong communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams throughout the bidding process.
- Track and analyze project performance and pricing trends for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate projects from the estimating stage into production and installation.
- Help improve estimating and quoting processes.
- Over time, take on more responsibility and help grow the business.

You Need to Know the Industry

This is the significant part.

You understand how long it takes to fabricate something. You know that estimating labour isn't just plugging numbers into a spreadsheet.

Experience with things like structural steel, columns, canopies, site installation, welding and fabrication will be extremely valuable.

You should also be comfortable with:

- Microsoft Excel and Word
- Sage
- PDF drawings and customer files

- Understanding of CAD/drafting/design files
- SolidWorks or similar solid-model files
- Reading technical and construction drawings
- Customer communication and quote follow-up

The Personality Matters Too

We know the fit matters to you!

We're looking for someone positive, energetic and personable. Someone who will talk in the shop, pick up the phone and call a customer, chase down an estimate, ask questions and jump in when something needs to get done.

No corporate attitude required.

It's a relaxed dress-code, roll-up-your-sleeves kind of environment where people work hard, have personalities and enjoy being part of the team.

The Team

You'll be joining a small, established group of approximately five employees across administration, waterjet operations and fabrication.

There is good tenure within the company, with team members who have been there for several years. It's the kind of environment where you'll actually know everyone you work with and have the opportunity to make a noticeable impact on the business.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: Approximately $65,000–$100,000, depending on experience and how much of the role you can take ownership of.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Dress Code: Relaxed
Most importantly, there is room to grow. For someone who understands the technical side, can own estimating, build customer relationships and eventually help drive the business forward, this role has the potential to become much more than an estimating position.
