J. Holmes Landscape Services – Hamilton/Dundas, Ontario

J. Holmes Landscape Services is a growing landscaping and snow removal company serving Hamilton, Dundas and surrounding areas. We are looking for reliable, hardworking Snow Removal Crew Members to join our winter operations team.

Snow removal is an important part of our business, and we are looking for people who take pride in doing a good job, show up when needed, and work well as part of a team.

What you'll do

- Perform snow and ice removal at commercial and residential properties
- Operate snow blowers, shovels and other snow-removal equipment
- Clear sidewalks, entrances, walkways and parking areas
- Apply salt and ice-control products as required
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment and materials
- Work as part of a crew to complete assigned properties efficiently
- Follow site-specific instructions and company procedures
- Perform winter equipment checks and report any problems
- Help with cleanup and maintenance of equipment when required

What we're looking for

- Reliable and dependable attendance is essential
- Comfortable working outdoors in winter weather
- Able to work overnight, early morning, weekends and holidays when required
- Good attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- Able to follow directions and complete assigned work without constant supervision
- Previous snow removal, landscaping, construction or outdoor work experience is an asset, but not required




- Valid driver's licence is an asset, own transportation to our yard in Dundas is necessary, bus routes are not an option

What we offer

- Competitive hourly wage , starting at $22/hour
- 15 hours/week standby pay is guaranteed for 24/7 availability from Nov 15-Apr15 (22 weeks, 330 hours guaranteed)
- Additionally actual hours worked clearing snow are paid as well, including a shift premium on in storm hours, up to $27/hour
- season end bonus based on shift attendance

Important information

Snow removal is weather-dependent. Employees must be available to work when snow events occur, which may include overnight shifts, early mornings, weekends and holidays.
