About us

Acorn & Feather is a newly licensed infant and toddler centre in South Surrey. We are building our founding team from the ground up — brand-new space, new equipment, and a program we are shaping together. If you want a say in how a centre runs rather than inheriting someone else's routines, this is a good place to start.

We are a small team. You will work directly with the people making decisions, not through three layers of management.

What you'll do

- Plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities for infants and toddlers
- Build warm, responsive relationships with each child and their family
- Observe and document children's development
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that meets Fraser Health licensing standards
- Support daily routines — feeding, diapering, napping, outdoor play
- Communicate openly with parents about their child's day
- Work collaboratively with your fellow educators

What you need

Required

- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certificate, or ECE Assistant certificate with a path to full certification
- Valid Criminal Record Check (Ministry of Public Safety — we can help you apply)
- Valid child-focused First Aid and CPR certificate
- Ability to communicate clearly in English with children, families, and colleagues

Preferred

- Infant & Toddler (ECE-IT) certificate — strongly preferred and reflected in the wage offered
- Additional languages spoken in our community





What we offer

- $19–$24 per hour base wage, depending on certification and experience
- Plus the $6/hour BC ECE Wage Enhancement for eligible certified educators — an effective $25–$30 per hour

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 20–37.5 hours per week. Both part-time and full time positions are available.

Centre hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Shifts are assigned within those hours on a rotating basis, so start and end times vary.
