Reporting to the Supervisor, Facilities & Property, and under the guidance of Senior Facilities Operator, this position performs the necessary duties to ensure that assigned area(s) of responsibility is kept clean and secure at all times; assists in all aspects of work related to the day- to- day operations, including winter and summer maintenance of municipal buildings and facilities under the jurisdiction of the Recreation, Facilities and Culture Department (RFC).

How you contribute to our organization:

- Maintain the multi-plex spaces and other Town-owned facilities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to emptying waste and recycle containers, dusting, sweeping and damp mopping resilient and hard floors, vacuuming carpeted areas and mats, cleaning glass, cleaning, sanitizing and polishing fixtures in washrooms and kitchens; spot cleaning walls, doors, partitions and other surfaces, refilling dispensers, cleaning and sanitizing lunch room tables, dust control of all floors, removing scuff and heel marks, shampooing carpets as required, stripping, waxing and buffing hard surfaces as required; snow and ice removal from entrances/exits/walkways, ensuring cleaning supplies and tools are maintained, stored and stocked.
- Participate in arena ice making and the maintenance of ice surfaces.




- Perform pool operations duties including opening and winterization, chemical balancing, cleaning and maintains records according to health legislation.
- Perform maintenance checks on any mobile equipment. Keep all equipment clean and in good working order.
- Oversee facilities when rented providing service to the public who have rented it.
- Respond to public inquiries and complaints directing matters to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Participate in function set ups/take downs.

What you bring to the team:

- Requires a high school diploma.
- Must have a valid G class driver’s licence, and ability to provide a clean driver’s abstract upon hire.
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certification.
- ORFA Basic Refrigeration or equivalent.
- ORFA certified pool operator or equivalent.
- Requires at least two (2) years’ experience in a similar position.
- Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, legible handwriting and ability to communicate with the public in a polite and diplomatic manner.
- Must be available for call-in shifts to work evenings and weekends.

Wage: $29.05-$36.31 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay and optional enrolment in OMERS pension plan
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: New Tecumseth Recreation Centre- Allison ON
