About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a complex, client-facing SharePoint migration and Microsoft 365 transformation initiative.
Working closely with the Senior Project Manager, technical teams, and client stakeholders, you will gather and document requirements, support content migration decisions, and coordinate testing and business readiness activities. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical, facilitation, and documentation skills, with experience supporting enterprise technology projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Senior Project Manager, technical teams, and client stakeholders throughout the migration.
- Gather and document business, content, process, security, and compliance requirements.
- Support decisions on which content should be migrated, archived, updated, or retired.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions to confirm requirements and resolve gaps.
- Document processes, business rules, user stories, data mappings, and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing and post-migration validation.
- Track requirements, decisions, defects, risks, and business sign-offs.
- Keep business owners informed of required actions, project impacts, timelines, and decisions.
- Support change management, cutover, transition, and handover to operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of business analysis experience supporting complex,
client-facing technology projects.
- Experience with requirements gathering, documentation, process mapping, validation, and change management.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops and collaborate with business, technical, and senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting user acceptance testing, defect resolution, and business sign-off.
- Strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Availability to work in person in downtown Calgary up to 5 days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale SharePoint migrations or Microsoft 365 transformations.
- Knowledge of SharePoint Online, SharePoint on-premises, metadata, permissions, integrations, or retention requirements.
- Experience supporting migration discovery, execution, validation, transition, and stabilization.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Visio, Planner, or similar tools.
Additional Assets
- Experience in energy, utilities, oil and gas, or other large enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Business analysis certification such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or equivalent.
Please note: This role will not require full time hours throughout the entire project lifecycle. Full-time involvement may be required for approximately 4–6 months, with workload varying based on project needs.
Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour
