Field Safety Coach
AKITA Drilling Ltd.
AKITA Drilling is seeking an experienced Field Safety Coach to join our HSE team. This field-based position focuses on coaching employees, promoting safe work practices, supporting rig start-ups, and helping strengthen our safety culture across drilling operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field visits to drilling rigs and work locations.
- Coach and mentor employees on protected work practices.
- Provide in house training to workers on Rig specific equipment.
- Support rig start-ups, inspections, and safety program implementation.
- Build positive working relationships with rig crews, supervisors, and operations leaders
- Verify compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in audits, inspections, incident investigations, and training activities.
- Identify hazards and provide practical solutions to improve safety performance.
- Prepare reports and recommendations based on field observations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of drilling industry experience.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and fitness-for-work testing requirements.
- Strong knowledge of drilling operations and safety practices.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Preferred - completion of occupational health and safety training.
- Ability to work independently and travel to field locations as required.
