Are you a recent graduate interested in communications, politics, and community engagement? This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working in a busy Member of Parliament's constituency office while making a difference in the Whitby community.
As part of our dynamic team, you'll support communications, community outreach, events, and constituent services. We're looking for someone who is a team player, strong writer, highly organized, curious, and eager to learn.
What You'll Do
- Draft newsletters, correspondence, speaking notes, briefings, announcements, and other communications.
- Respond to constituent inquiries and help residents navigate federal programs and services.
- Help plan community events, town halls, consultations, youth and seniors' initiatives, Minister visits, and announcements.
- Support the MP at community events and engagements.
- Build relationships with local organizations and community stakeholders.
- Help identify new opportunities for community outreach and engagement.
- Research local and national issues and help prepare briefing materials.
- Work collaboratively with both the constituency and Parliament Hill teams.
What We're Looking For
- A solid writer and communicator with excellent attention to detail.
- Friendly, qualified, and comfortable working with the public.
- Organized and able to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Interested in politics, public service, communications, and community issues.
- Comfortable learning new skills and receiving feedback.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and social media.
- Knowledge of digital media, Canva, WordPress, InDesign, CP Style, or photography is an asset, but not required.
Qualifications
- Recent graduate with a degree or diploma in Communications, Political Science, Journalism, Media, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Relevant work, volunteer, campaign, student government, or community experience will also be considered.
- Valid Ontario G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Two professional references required.
Location: Whitby Constituency Office
Some evening and weekend availability will be required for community events.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,000.00-$46,000.00 per year
