Job Summary
Collision Repair Experts - Toronto North is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Automotive Quality Controller to join our busy collision repair facility. The Quality Controller will be responsible for inspecting vehicles throughout the repair process and ensuring all collision repairs meet our company’s high-quality standards, OEM repair procedures, safety requirements, and customer expectations.
The ideal candidate has solid automotive knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and hands-on experience with collision repair, vehicle scanning, diagnostics, bodywork, paint and refinishing, and final vehicle inspections. Experience working with Tesla vehicles is strongly preferred.
This role is critical in ensuring every vehicle leaves Collision Repair Experts - Toronto North safe, properly repaired, fully scanned, and finished to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles at different stages of the collision repair process.
- Perform and/or verify pre-repair and post-repair diagnostic scans using appropriate automotive scanning equipment.
- Review scan results and identify diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), system faults, and issues requiring further diagnosis or repair.
- Verify that required modules and electronic systems have been properly checked following collision repairs.
- Ensure ADAS systems, sensors, cameras, and other safety-related systems are properly inspected and calibrated when required.
- Verify body repairs, panel alignment, gaps, fit, and finish.
- Inspect paint and refinishing work for colour match, texture, runs, dust, overspray, and other defects.
- Ensure repairs are completed according to OEM procedures and manufacturer specifications.
- Verify that all damaged areas identified in the repair plan have been properly repaired.
- Check replacement parts for correct fit, quality, and proper installation.
- Inspect lights, sensors, cameras, safety systems, trim, glass, doors, hood, trunk, and other components after repair.
- Perform detailed final quality-control inspections before vehicles are delivered to customers.
- Identify and document deficiencies and communicate required corrections to technicians and management.
- Conduct road tests when required to verify vehicle operation and repair quality.
- Verify vehicle cleanliness and presentation before final delivery.
- Work closely with body technicians, painters, estimators, parts personnel, and management to resolve quality issues.
- Help reduce comebacks by identifying problems before vehicles are returned to customers.
- Maintain accurate quality-control, scanning, and inspection records.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an automotive body shop or collision repair environment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive collision repair and refinishing processes.
- Hands-on experience with pre-repair and post-repair vehicle scanning and diagnostics.
- Ability to operate automotive diagnostic scanning equipment and interpret scan results/DTCs.
- Knowledge of ADAS systems, sensors, cameras, and calibration requirements.
- Previous Tesla repair experience is required or strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Tesla body repair procedures, vehicle systems, and OEM repair requirements is an asset.
- Ability to identify body, paint, mechanical, electrical, electronic, and fit-and-finish issues.
- Knowledge of OEM repair procedures and collision repair standards.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technicians and management.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced body shop environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Tesla vehicles in a collision repair setting.
- Experience using Tesla service/diagnostic information and following Tesla OEM repair procedures.
- I-CAR or equivalent collision-repair training is an asset.
- Previous experience as a body technician, estimator, production manager, or quality-control inspector.
- Experience with OEM repair procedures and manufacturer-specific requirements.
- Experience with ADAS diagnostics and post-repair calibration.
- Experience with electronic diagnostic and scanning equipment.
- Experience with estimating or repair-management software is an asset.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
