We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented BAS Technician to join our Integrated Building Services Team in Port Coquitlam, B.C. In this role you will program, build graphics for, and commission Building Automation Systems on the Niagara 4 platform, taking projects from control logic through to a fully commissioned system handed over to the customer.
The expected wage range for this position is $50/hr - $58/hr.
Location: Port Coquitlam, B.C., with project sites across the Lower Mainland
Duties and Responsibilities:
Programming
- Program and configure Niagara 4 stations and Distech controllers, developing control logic from sequences of operation and control drawings.
- Set up and troubleshoot BACnet (IP and MS/TP) and Modbus device integration and network communication.
- Configure system alarms, trends and schedules.
Graphics
- Develop user graphics and interfaces that schematically represent each system.
Commissioning
- Perform point-to-point commissioning and check the calibration of sensors and devices.
- Functionally test sequences of operation and resolve deficiencies through to handover.
- Complete commissioning documentation.
Projects, Service and Support
- Work on design-build new and retrofit BAS projects. i.e. high-rise residential, and commercial buildings.
- Diagnose and solve customer Building Automation System problems based on accepted industry standards and procedures.
- Provide customer training as required.
- Identify and collaborate with other business lines such as our construction and sales teams for other customer needs.
- Suggest methods for improving product quality, design and installation, and contribute to improving team processes and procedures.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
- Adhere to the company's policies and procedures and Business Code of Conduct.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
Must have
- 3+ years of hands-on experience programming and commissioning Building Automation Systems.
- Hands-on experience with the Niagara 4 (Tridium) platform, including station programming and graphics.
- In-depth understanding of control systems, HVAC, and other building automation.
- Technical field experience with HVAC systems, DDC systems, software, and device calibrations.
- Working knowledge of BACnet (IP and MS/TP), Modbus and basic IP networking.
- Ability to read sequences of operation, control drawings and mechanical drawings.
- Good time management skills.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract, and the ability to travel to sites across the Lower Mainland.
Nice to have
- Niagara 4 Technical Certification (TCP).
- Experience with Distech Controls products (EC-gfxProgram, EC-Net) and other BAS systems.
- Electrical and/or HVAC/R trade classification with relevant controls experience.
- Education in HVAC, controls, mechanical or electrical technology.
