Part time Server | Patisserie du Soleil

Patisserie du Soleil - Woodbine is looking for an experienced part-time server to join our busy front-of-house team at our locally owned and family-operated bakery and restaurant.

We’re looking for someone who already understands hospitality. That means you know how to walk into a busy dining room, read what needs to be done, communicate with your team, prioritize guests, and jump in without a second thought. We are looking for someone who already has a strong foundation in serving and knows what great hospitality feels like.

What It’s Like Here

Patisserie du Soleil is a bakery, a café, a restaurant, and a coffee shop… all bundled up into one.

Our days are busy, fast-moving and sometimes beautifully chaotic. You may be greeting a table, running food, taking a cake order, making a cappuccino, and helping your teammate within the same five minutes. Rest assured that you will never run out of things to do!

You will need to be comfortable switching gears, noticing what needs attention and taking initiative. It can be demanding, but it is also incredibly rewarding. We have a close-knit team, wonderful regulars and a workplace where many people stay for years because they genuinely care about the people beside them and the guests they serve.

We take our work seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

Who We’re Looking For

Our ideal candidate is someone who:

- Has 1–2+ years of serving experience in a busy restaurant or similar hospitality environment
- Believes that hospitality comes first
- Understands how to anticipate guest and team needs instead of waiting for instruction
- Works with a sense of urgency while still making guests feel cared for
- Can listen, take action and follow through




- Takes accountability when something goes wrong and helps find a solution
- Is kind, empathetic, and patient with guests and coworkers
- Communicates clearly, both verbally and nonverbally
- Can stay positive and productive when the restaurant gets busy, stressful or unpredictable
- Is comfortable multitasking and prioritizing several things at once
- Is a strong team player who is also capable of working independently
- Is confident enough to make decisions but not afraid to ask questions
- Is open to feedback and genuinely wants to keep improving
- Is observant and notices the little things that can turn good service into a memorable experience

Most importantly, you genuinely like people.

We believe in old-school hospitality: noticing the little things, being the reason a guest chooses to come back, remembering a regular’s favourite drink before they do, and creating an experience that feels warm, personal, and genuinely cared for from the moment they walk through the door until the final, “See you soon.”

Requirements

- 1–2+ years serving experience
- Weekend Availability
- Valid AGLC ProServe Certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable transportation or ability to consistently arrive for early shifts

Nice to Have

- Previous barista experience
- Food Safety Certification
- Bakery or cafe experience

Availability





We are looking for someone available approximately:

- 2-3 days per week
- 5-8 hour shifts
- Weekends & evenings

Depending on scheduling needs, availability may be required between:

Monday–Saturday: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM

Sunday: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

Our regular hours of operation are:

Monday–Saturday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM

Sunday: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
