Quantum Design and Technologies Inc has an open position for a labourer/welding apprentice. 1st to 3rd year Apprentice. The job is a full-time position at Quantum's Edmonton shop.

Responsibilities/Duties

- Assist other welders and preform welding duties alone.
- Prep and finish items for welders
- Operate welding equipment and flame-cutting equipment.
- Operate drill presses and band saw
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment; prepare jigs or set-ups for welding.
- Troubleshoot production problems and take preventative or corrective action.
- Recommend changes to improve quality and reduce costs.
- Maintenance/ clean-up
- Operate a forklift
- Paint and finish products
- Make deliveries.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Some welding experience is an asset,



but not necessary
- Team player and committed to safety and quality
- Dependable and reliable
- Ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Must be a self-starter with proven ability to make comprehensive decisions
- Manual dexterity, good vision and eye-hand coordination
- The ability to concentrate on detailed work
- The ability to perform lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Motivation to work in a fast-paced, deadline orientated environment

We are willing to provide onsite training, but, preference would be given to those who have experience. Position available immediately. The position pays $18-22/hr depending on experience.

We work 4 day work weeks 10hrs/day Monday to Thursday.

Pay: $18.00-$31.00 per hour
