Position Overview
LTS is seeking an Application Engineer, NX Mold/Die Wizard to provide technical consulting, implementation, application support, demonstrations, and training for customers using Siemens NX tooling-wizard applications. The role focuses on helping customers apply, configure, and adopt NX Mold Wizard and relevant die-wizard capabilities to improve automated tooling workflows, standardize reusable content, and resolve application challenges.
Working directly with customers and internal technical teams, you will assess tooling workflows, recommend practical application solutions, support software deployment and adoption, and transfer knowledge through demonstrations, training, and clear technical documentation. This is an application-engineering and customer-enablement role rather than a production tooling designer position.
This role may be a strong fit for someone who enjoys:
- Applying software automation to real mold and die-tooling workflows.
- Helping customers configure and use NX tooling-wizard applications effectively.
- Combining technical troubleshooting with consulting, demonstrations, training, and continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise customers on the effective application of NX Mold Wizard and relevant die-wizard capabilities within their tooling workflows.
- Assess customer processes and translate tooling requirements into practical NX application workflows, configurations, templates, and reusable practices.
- Support application activities such as project initialization, manufacturability and region analysis, parting development, tooling layouts, standard components, validation, drawings,
and related wizard-driven outputs.
- For die-related engagements, support applicable workflows such as staged-part preparation, blank and strip development, die-base and standard-part management, insert development, validation, drawings, and project outputs.
- Configure or support customer-specific libraries, templates, materials, standard components, attributes, reports, and application standards within approved project scope.
- Troubleshoot application, configuration, library, workflow, assembly, associativity, and model-related issues and provide practical recommendations or workarounds.
- Deliver software demonstrations, workshops, customer training, and knowledge-transfer sessions for tooling professionals, engineers, administrators, and support personnel.
- Contribute technical information to discovery discussions, project scopes, implementation plans, estimates, and proposals, and collaborate with sales, customer success, project, Siemens, and technical resources.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, tool and die, manufacturing engineering, industrial design, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.
- Practical knowledge of injection-mold, progressive-die, stamping-die, or related tooling workflows gained through design, manufacturing, engineering, CAD/CAM, application support, or software implementation work.
- Hands-on experience using Siemens NX or comparable 3D CAD software for complex mechanical, manufacturing, or tooling applications.
- Working knowledge of tooling principles, manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, assemblies, and design-for-manufacturing considerations.
- Ability to interpret complex geometry and tooling requirements, investigate technical issues methodically, and communicate practical solutions clearly.
- Strong customer communication, collaboration, technical documentation, presentation,
and knowledge-transfer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with Siemens NX Mold Wizard, Progressive Die Wizard, Stamping Die Wizard, or comparable knowledge-driven tooling applications.
- Experience configuring or supporting tooling-wizard project templates, libraries, standard parts, materials, attributes, reports, reusable components, or customer-specific standards.
- For Mold Wizard: familiarity with project initialization, part validation, regions and parting, layouts, mold bases, standard hardware, gates and runners, cooling, finishing details, validation, or mold drawings.
- For die-wizard applications: familiarity with staged parts, blank development, strip layouts, die bases, standard parts, forming or piercing inserts, tooling validation, drawings, or project outputs.
- Experience with advanced NX modeling, assemblies, interpart relationships, expressions, surfacing, drafting, Teamcenter, CAD training, technical consulting, or software implementation.
