Job Title: Validation & Verification Specialist
Pay Rate: $57.15/hour as T4 Contract
Duration: 12 months with a possibility of extension
Location: Halifax, NS
Schedule: Core hours are 8am–4pm local time (somehow adaptable) Hybrid (3 days in the office and 2 days remote)
Clearance Requirement: secret can be in progress as they start however, Secret NATO clearance would be a plus if they want to have other opportunity Description Position
Position Summary
Defence & Security is engaged in the maintenance of ships for Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) program.
To support this project, the IVVQ team (Integration, Verification, Validation, and Quality Team) is looking to add an IVVQ Test Specialist to our team, to be based in Mill Bay, BC or Halifax, NS. The IVVQ Specialist plays a critical role as part of the Engineering team responsible for the design, conduct, and reporting of IVVQ activities.
Please note that this role will involve extended periors of work at client sites; mostly in Victoria or Halifax. Some travel outside of Nova Scotia may be required. Some ship voyages during test events will be required.
Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility
· Plan and Execute Test Events.
· Write test plans and test procedures that will properly verify and validate the product.
· Analyze requirements and contribute to the development of traceability matrices.
· Develop Test cases.
· Work with System and Software Engineering in identifying and analyzing defects.
· Raise project issues/risks and track to resolution.
· Provide Test Reports and status updates on test activities.
· Deploy methodologies (including metrics), tools/platforms necessary for test activities
· Observe test guidelines and Company internal processes

Minimum Requirements:
Skills, Experience, Education, Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Certifications, Language
· Previous experience with:
o Test Case development and execution; either manual or automated.
o Requirements Analysis.
o Test Management Tools.
· Demonstrated capabilities:
o Fluent in English, skilled communicator, both written and spoken.
o Attention to Detail.
o Ability to acquire and maintain Canadian Secret, Controlled Goods, ITAR, NATO Secret and COMSEC security clearances.
· At least three (3) years demonstrated experience in IV&V; or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
· Demonstrated experience in marine or military systems.
o Ships or shipbuilding
o Marine systems
o System of systems engineering and integration

· Experience handling and working on physical systems, products, or equipment
· Experience Testing or performing verification ships
· Experience with IBM DOORS
· Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Technology, Electrical Engineering/Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, other related discipline from a recognized university or college.
Physical Demands
Test sites can be located in difficult-to-navigate areas. This could include shipyards, construction sites, remote wilderness locations. Such sites may need to be used for certain test events. The ability to navigate such sites is a necessity.
Minimal lifting of test and electronic equipment in a lab or field environment.
Pay: $57.15 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
