Dispatcher – Maple Leaf Disposal (Langley, BC)

About the Role
The dispatcher plays a key role in the daily success of our operations by coordinating drivers, optimizing routes, and ensuring every customer receives exceptional, on-time service. You will be part of a supportive, driven team that values proactive communication, efficiency, and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and optimize daily routes to meet customer needs while maintaining productivity and efficiency targets.
- Monitor daily driver attendance, start times, route completion, and overall productivity, following up on delays or missed assignments as required.
- Coordinate last-minute changes, emergency service requests, breakdowns, call-ins, and route adjustments while minimizing disruptions to customers and operations.
- Communicate clearly with drivers regarding route changes, customer requirements, safety concerns, access issues, and operational expectations.
- Assist with assigning replacement trucks or drivers when equipment or staffing issues affect scheduled routes.
- Maintain accurate records of service issues, customer requests, route changes, driver communications, and other operational information.
- Escalate significant customer complaints, safety concerns, service failures, vehicle incidents, and operational issues to management promptly.
- Schedule and assign drivers to routes, ensuring they have the right tools, equipment, and information to complete their assignments safely and efficiently.
- Serve as the primary communication link between drivers, customers, and internal departments—including sales and operations—to ensure service excellence and real-time issue resolution.
- Monitor progress throughout the day, anticipating and addressing route or equipment challenges to prevent service disruptions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the company’s dispatch and routing systems.
- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with drivers and customers to ensure collaboration, trust, and transparency.
- Support weekend operations.
- Participate in daily check-ins with the dispatch and operations team to review service performance and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of dispatch, logistics coordination, or route planning experience.
- Previous experience in waste management, transportation, logistics, fleet operations,
or a similar fast-paced environment is considered an asset.
- Ability to effectively coordinate multiple drivers, routes, and customer requests simultaneously.
- Ability to remain organized and make sound decisions when dealing with last-minute changes, service issues, driver call-ins, breakdowns, and time-sensitive requests.
- Comfortable using dispatch, GPS, routing, telematics, and other computer-based systems.
- Experience working with commercial vehicle operations or drivers is considered an asset.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with Lower Mainland geography and municipalities is essential.
- Skills:
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Clear and professional communication—both written and verbal.
- Solid data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time, permanent position Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 6:00pm
- Competitive salary TBD contingent on experience
- Benefits package available after 3 months of employment.
