Position Summary

The Bulk Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient handling, transfer, storage, and loading/unloading of bulk liquid and chemical products. This role supports daily warehouse and distribution operations by operating bulk transfer equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and delivering excellent service to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

Bulk Product Handling

- Safely load and unload bulk liquid chemicals from tank trucks, railcars, totes, and storage tanks.
- Conduct product transfers between tanks, totes, and other storage vessels according to established procedures.
- Verify product identity, quantities, and documentation before transferring materials.
- Monitor transfer operations to prevent spills, contamination, and product loss.
- Sample products as required and ensure adherence to quality standards.

Warehouse & Operations Support

- Operate forklifts, pumps, valves, hoses, and other material handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Assist with receiving, storing, picking, staging, and shipping products.
- Perform inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Support cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
- Coordinate with logistics, customer service, and transportation teams to ensure timely shipments and deliveries.

Safety, Health & Setting

- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, and environmental concerns.
- Respond appropriately to spills, leaks, and emergency situations according to site procedures.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards in all work areas.

Equipment & Facility Maintenance

- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and report deficiencies.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs when qualified.
- Ensure transfer equipment, tanks, pumps, and hoses are maintained in secure operating condition.
- Keep workstations, loading areas, and warehouse locations clean and organized.

Documentation & Compliance

- Complete shipping, receiving,



and transfer documentation accurately.
- Record tank levels, product movements, and operational activities.
- Maintain compliance with TDG, WHMIS, Health & Safety, environmental regulations, and company standards.
- Support audits and inspections as required.

Qualifications

Education

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education in logistics, operations, chemical technology, or a related field is considered an asset.

Experience

- Previous experience in chemical distribution, manufacturing, warehousing, or bulk liquid handling preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Experience with inventory control and shipping/receiving processes is an asset.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer skills and experience using warehouse management systems.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators where applicable.
- Ability to work in the outdoor

Certifications (Preferred)

- Valid Forklift Certification.
- WHMIS Training.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certification.

- On-time loading and unloading of shipments.
