About the Role

First Response Environmental is an industry leader in emergency response services, specializing in Hazardous Materials, CBRNE, Confined Space Rescue, and Environmental Remediation. As we expand our operations, we are seeking motivated individuals to join our 24/7 hazmat response team.

Location: Hamilton, ON (Applicants must reside within a 30-minute radius)

Job Type: Full-Time

Are you ready to make a real difference? We are looking for a reliable, adaptable team member to join our high-stakes environmental and emergency response team.

Schedule & Availability Requirements:

Hours & Operational Flexibility: Regular office hours for First Response are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. While full-time hours are typical, daily start, end, and total hours fluctuate based entirely on business demand and operational needs. Employees are required to be fully flexible and available to work whatever hours management schedules to meet operational requirements.

Mandatory On-Call & Emergency Response: Participation in a rotating on-call schedule is a strict, mandatory condition of your employment. You must be available to perform unscheduled Emergency Response work outside of regular office hours and meet required response timeframes when called.

Compensation: In addition to a highly competitive hourly wage, we offer strong,



rewarding compensation for after-hours emergency response work and call-outs.

What You’ll Do:

Emergency Response: Act as a first responder for hazmat, oil/fuel spills, and bio-hazardous incidents.

Rescue & Operations: Serve as a standby rescue operator for confined spaces and operate Industrial Vacuum Trucks, Hydro-Vacs, and Roll-Off Trucks.

Compliance & Safety: Handle waste management according to Reg. 347, complete TDGA/RPRA manifests, and adhere to strict safety protocols.

What You Bring (Must-Haves):

Experience: 3+ years operating Vacuum Trucks and/or Roll-Off Trucks.

Licensing: Valid Class DZ Driver’s License (5+ years) with a clean driving record.

Knowledge: Working knowledge of the TDGA and RPRA Manifesting.

Location: Must reside within a 30-minute radius of Hamilton.

Reliability & Availability: A strict commitment to working a variable schedule, accepting on-call rotations, and adapting to operational needs without scheduling restrictions.

Assets & Preferred Certifications:

- Confined Space Entry/Rescue & Working at Heights
- IICRC Certifications (WRT / FSRT / AMRT / ASD)
- 253W / 253S & Standard First Aid / CPR
