*Associate Position – Virtual*

**2 – 6 years family law experience**

I practice family law/child protection primarily in Toronto, but have a growing practice in Northern Ontario (from Sudbury to Sault Ste Marie, all the way to Kenora). My Toronto practice has a lot of property/income issues, and my northern practice has a focus on First Nations family law issues (though we deal with non-Indigenous family law issues in the north as well).

I’m looking for somebody who has the confidence and competency to carry simpler files from start to finish with some guidance, and a willingness to junior on more complex files. You’ll always be invited to build your practice on issues that most interest you. A connection to Northern Ontario is a plus, but not mandatory.

Virtual practice:

- This will be a virtual position, with the exception of required in-person court appearances. If you’re located in Northern Ontario, we’ll get you situated with northern files; if you’re in Toronto, we’ll have you working GTA files.

Compensation:





- Based on experience and can be versatile. A fee-split would be preferred, but a more traditional salary (or combination salary + fee split) is also workable.

- Strong division between work and ordinary life (we won’t bother each other after hours or on weekends… or most Fridays).

- Autonomy. You’re free to take on as much work as you’d like, but prioritizing work over life won’t be expected of you. If you prefer to work in-person, we can make arrangements, but I’ll never ask you to come into the office just for the sake of being there.
