Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Excavator Operator to join our civil construction team. In this vital role, you will operate heavy machinery, primarily excavators, to assist in various construction projects such as site preparation, trenching, grading, and material handling. Your expertise will ensure that projects progress efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality. Duties

- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers to perform excavation, grading, trenching, and site leveling tasks
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality
- Follow project plans and specifications to execute earthmoving tasks accurately
- Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to all safety protocols and wearing appropriate protective gear
- Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to minimize downtime




- Assist with other construction activities requiring mechanical knowledge or operation of related machinery such as horizontal drilling or Caterpillar equipment

Qualifications

- Proven experience operating excavators in civil construction environments
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and paving machinery
- Ability to operate additional machinery such as horizontal drills and Caterpillar equipment is a plus
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent for transporting equipment between sites
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices
- Familiarity with construction site protocols and teamwork-oriented mindset
- Basic understanding of maintenance procedures for heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50.0 – 60.0 per week
