Part-Time Retail Associate — Furniture Showroom

Job Summary

We are a long-established specialty furniture showroom on Main Street in Vancouver.

We are hiring a part time Retail Associate to run the store floor, assist customers, and help keep the showroom operating smoothly.

Our showroom is generally calm and low-traffic. After initial training, you will work independently, with support available from our team.

This is an hourly-paid position, not commission-based, with potential to transition to full-time depending on business needs and mutual fit.

Schedule

Thursday–Saturday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM

The showroom opens to customers at 11:00 AM. Your shift starts at 10:00 AM for showroom preparation, opening tasks, and customer follow-ups.

Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.

Pay

- First month: $20/hour
- Months two and three: $21/hour
- From month four onward: $22/hour

These are scheduled increases based on time employed. All training time is paid.

Responsibilities

- Open and close the showroom
- Welcome customers, help them browse, and answer basic product questions
- Assist customers and process in-store sales using our POS system
- Provide basic after-sale assistance and pass more involved questions or customer issues to our team
- Monitor store voicemail and respond to routine enquiries primarily by text or email
- Record customer information accurately and follow up as directed
- Maintain showroom cleanliness and product condition
- Manage small on-site stock, including cash-and-carry and clearance items
- Assist with occasional furniture handling, assembly, and disassembly, with training and appropriate help




- Help keep simple notes and checklists as you learn showroom procedures

- Able to commute reliably to Main Street and King Edward Avenue

Experience

Retail or customer-facing experience is preferred. Experience working independently or opening and closing a business is an asset.

Product and POS training will be provided.
