Location: Burlington, Ontario
Pay: $23–$28 per hour, based on experience
Shift Premium: Additional $0.80 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, three-month contract with the potential for a permanent prospect based on performance and experience.
Schedule: 12-hour continental shifts, rotating between days and nights every two weeks
Staff Plus is recruiting Manufacturing Operators for an established industrial manufacturer in Burlington. These opportunities are well suited to dependable machine operators who bring strong mechanical aptitude, an eye for quality and experience working safely in a fast-paced production environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Operate, set up, adjust and monitor automated or semi-automated production equipment.
- Complete machine changeovers and perform basic equipment troubleshooting.
- Load raw materials and transfer products through different stages of the manufacturing process.
- Monitor production to ensure quality and output targets are consistently achieved.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges and other measuring instruments.
- Read and follow work orders, specifications, technical drawings and production schedules.
- Maintain material traceability and complete production, quality and inventory documentation accurately.
- Identify quality concerns, equipment issues and production irregularities.
- Support continuous-improvement initiatives designed to reduce downtime, scrap and rework.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation in accordance with 5S and workplace safety standards.
- Follow all PPE, health and safety, and equipment-operating procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and rotate between workstations based on production requirements.
What You Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to five years of manufacturing,
production or machine-operating experience preferred.
- Experience operating automated or semi-automated machinery is an asset.Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to read work orders, specifications and technical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers or gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.Basic computer and math skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Forklift, overhead-crane or other material-handling experience is an asset.
- Physical and Scheduling Requirements
- Ability to work a 12-hour continental schedule that rotates between days and nights every two weeks.
- Day shifts begin at 7:00 a.m.; night shifts begin at 7:00 p.m.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent bending, lifting and repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
- Willingness to wear all required personal protective equipment.
Compensation:
The hourly rate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and the specific production area selected by the hiring team:
- General operator range: $23–$27 per hour
- Additional shift premium: $0.80 per hour
