We are seeking an experienced construction Estimator. This role will be responsible for preparing full estimates on projects as required, analysing results and regular reporting to Management.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead the preparation of accurate, competitive estimates for tendered, negotiated, and design-build projects.

· Review drawings, specifications, and addenda to identify scope requirements, risks, and opportunities.

· Manage the full tender process, including bid invitations, RFIs, scope reviews, bid leveling, bid closing, and submission.

· Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis using industry-standard estimating software.

· Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, owners, and industry partners.

· Identify value engineering opportunities that reduce costs while maintaining quality, schedule, and project requirements.

· Manage multiple pursuits simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting critical deadlines.

· Develop and maintain historical cost databases, productivity metrics, and pricing benchmarks.

· Present estimates, procurement strategies, and bid recommendations to Management for go/no-go and award decisions.

· Monitor market trends, construction costs, and procurement risks to support effective bidding strategies.

· Continually build and update bidders list

· Understand insurance and bonding costs for correct inclusion in bids





· Prepare subcontractor bid packages

· Organize in advance additional manpower for difficult bid closings

· Include value engineering/alternative ideas where and when possible

· Know the project well in advance of the bid closing date

· Constantly reconnect with trades to assure they are closing the project

· Consistently follow-up on submitted bids

Qualifications

· 5+ years of experience in estimating within the ICI construction sector.

· Experience preparing estimates up to $15-20M

· Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Engineering Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.

· Strong knowledge of Ontario construction practices, CCDC contracts, procurement methodologies, and industry standards.

· Thorough understanding of local subcontractor and supplier markets throughout Niagara and Southern Ontario.

· Proficiency with PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Excel, and other construction management software.

· Excellent analytical, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to clients and management.

· Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships

· Ability to use emerging technology to stay competitive (AI)

Pay: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
