KITCHEN & COUNTER STAFF — FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME

Location: Via Gnocchi — Bathurst & Bloor, Toronto
Pay: $20/hour base, plus tips — approximately $25–$30/hour total with tips. Tip earnings vary by shift.
Start date: Immediately
Availability: Right now we are hiring part-time. Please send availability with initial message. Please ensure your availability is constant and not subject to change as we need consistent staff members.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Via Gnocchi is a small, quick-paced takeout restaurant specializing in affordable gnocchi with tomato sauce. We’re looking for someone with previous hands-on kitchen experience who can prepare food, serve customers and keep the restaurant running smoothly.

Our team is small, so you must be comfortable working independently, taking initiative and noticing what needs to be done. We’ll train you on our menu and procedures, but you should already be familiar with kitchen routines, food preparation, cleanliness and working efficiently during busy service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare, cook, portion and assemble food according to our recipes and standards.
- Greet customers and provide quick, friendly service.
- Take orders and process payments using Square.
- Restock ingredients, drinks, packaging and supplies.
- Keep the kitchen, counter, equipment and service areas clean and organized.
- Follow food-handling, sanitation and food-safety procedures.
- Maintain consistent portions and presentation during busy periods.




- Open or close the restaurant when scheduled.
- Complete preparation and cleaning tasks without constant supervision.
- Communicate clearly about inventory, equipment and operational issues.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- Previous kitchen experience is required, ideally in a restaurant or takeout setting.
- Reliable, punctual and able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule.
- Comfortable managing tasks independently and taking initiative.
- Friendly and welcoming with customers.
- Calm, organized and efficient during busy periods.
- Willing to cook, serve, clean and help wherever needed.
- Able to follow recipes, portions and instructions consistently.
- Available for daytime, evening, weekend or late-night shifts.
- Lives nearby or has a dependable commute to Bathurst and Bloor.
- Food Handler Certificate is an asset.
