Logistics & Inventory CoordinatorAbout the Role
We are looking for an experienced Logistics & Inventory Coordinator to independently manage day-to-day shipping, logistics, and inventory activities in a fast-paced setting.
The successful candidate will have hands-on logistics experience and be comfortable coordinating shipments, preparing shipping and customs documentation, communicating with carriers and suppliers, resolving issues, and managing multiple priorities with limited supervision.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, organized, and able to identify and resolve logistics issues before they impact customers or operations.
What You’ll Do
- Process and verify customer orders accurately and on time.
- Schedule, coordinate, and track inbound and outbound shipments.
- Coordinate freight pick-ups and deliveries with carriers, suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
- Select appropriate shipping methods based on timelines, cost, and shipment requirements.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, customs documentation, and other required documents.
- Coordinate cross-border Canada–U.S. shipments and ensure required documentation is complete and accurate.
- Communicate with suppliers to coordinate deliveries, address shortages, and resolve delivery issues.
- Respond to shipment delays, documentation issues, order changes, and other logistics problems independently and promptly.
- Maintain accurate shipping and inventory records.
- Complete monthly inventory reconciliation reports and investigate discrepancies.
- Work closely with production, sales, purchasing, and other departments to ensure materials and customer orders are available when required.
- Use vendor portals, inventory systems, and other cloud-based platforms to process and track orders and shipments.
- Prioritize multiple shipments, deadlines, and operational requirements in a fast-paced environment.
What You Bring
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in logistics, freight coordination, shipping, or a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience independently coordinating inbound and outbound shipments.
- Experience preparing and reviewing bills of lading, commercial invoices, customs documentation, and other shipping documents.
- Experience working directly with carriers, freight brokers, suppliers, and customers.
- Experience resolving shipping delays, delivery issues, documentation errors, and other logistics problems.
- Experience with inventory reconciliation and investigating inventory discrepancies.
- Experience with Canada–U.S. cross-border shipments is strongly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience using ERP, inventory management systems,
vendor portals, or other cloud-based business systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with limited supervision.
- Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field is preferred.
