Senior Tax Lawyer – Surrey

Our client, a well-established and highly regarded full-service law firm in Surrey, is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Lawyer to join and help lead its growing Tax Group.

This is a unique opportunity for an established tax lawyer looking for a strong platform from which to continue building their practice. The successful candidate will work closely with lawyers across the firm’s corporate, commercial, estate planning and litigation groups, providing sophisticated tax advice to a diverse client base.

The Opportunity

The ideal candidate will have 6–12+ years of call and significant experience advising individuals, private companies and business owners on a broad range of tax matters.

The practice may include:

- Corporate and commercial tax planning
- Business reorganizations and restructuring
- Tax-efficient transactions
- Estate and succession planning
- Trusts and wealth preservation
- Tax matters arising from mergers, acquisitions and business sales
- CRA disputes and related tax matters
- Advising entrepreneurs, privately held companies and high-net-worth clients

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take a leadership role within the Tax Group while collaborating with an established team of lawyers across complementary practice areas.

What You Bring





- 6–12+ years of call with a strong tax practice
- Extensive knowledge of Canadian tax law and planning
- Strong technical, analytical and client-management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple practice groups
- An entrepreneurial approach to practice development
- An established or growing book of business is highly desirable
