The Opportunity

We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Part-Time Window Coverings Installer to join our team. The right person is someone who is handy, reliable and takes pride in doing things properly. This is a customer-facing position that requires excellent people skills.

This is a excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems and seeing the finished result of their work. You'll install custom blinds, shades, shutters, drapery and motorized window coverings in our clients' homes throughout Edmonton and St. Albert.

Previous window covering installation experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person. Experience in construction, renovations, cabinetry, finish carpentry, handyman services or another residential installation trade would transfer well to this position.

What You'll Do

- Professionally install custom blinds, shades, shutters, drapery and related window coverings
- Install and set up motorized window coverings and controls
- Review products and installation requirements before beginning each job
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders and installation equipment
- Troubleshoot installation challenges and identify practical solutions
- Protect flooring, furniture, walls, trim and other surfaces while working in clients' homes




- Keep work areas clean and organized throughout the installation
- Remove packaging and installation debris when the job is complete
- Demonstrate the operation and care of window coverings to clients
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members
- Identify and report product, measurement or installation concerns
- Maintain installation tools, equipment and supplies
- Represent Budget Blinds professionally in our clients' homes

Experience

Previous experience in one or more of the following is an asset:

- Window covering installation
- Residential construction or renovations
- Finish carpentry or cabinetry
- Window & door installation
- Handyman or home-service work

Window covering experience is not required. We will train a mechanically inclined candidate who has the right attitude, attention to detail and customer-service skills.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active position. You must be able to:

- Regularly lift and carry window coverings, tools and equipment




- Work from ladders or scaffolding at heights of up to approximately 20 feet indoors when required
- Bend, kneel, reach and work overhead
- Safely handle long or oversized window coverings
- Perform installation work throughout the day
- Work safely and comfortably in residential environments

Schedule

- Part-time, approximately 15 - 25 hours per week with possiblity to extend to full-time hours
- Primarily weekday/daytime hours
- Hours depend on installation schedules and client demand
- Some flexibility in scheduling is required

Compensation

$23–$26 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated installation skills.

Candidates with previous window covering or relevant residential installation experience may qualify toward the higher end of the range.

Requirements

- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence
- Clean driver's abstract
- Minimum of 3 years current vehicle insurance history
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Able to successfully complete the physical requirements of the position
