U.S. hospitals are hiring Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, and welcome therapists currently living in Canada. These are W-2, direct-hire positions in the United States, not agency or travel roles. Canadian citizens can work under TN status, therapists who are not Canadian citizens can be considered for H-1B sponsorship, and EB-3 green card sponsorship is available.
Settings span acute care, outpatient, post-surgical, swing-bed, transitional care and long-term care, so therapists carry a broad caseload and real ownership of it. New graduates are welcome on the Physical Therapy line.
Position Details
- Pay: $40.00 – $60.61 USD per hour, based on experience and hospital
- Full-time, direct hire, in person at the hospital in the United States (relocation required)
Open Positions and Settings
- Physical Therapist — acute care, outpatient (incl. orthopedic), post-surgical, swing-bed, transitional care and long-term care positions
- Occupational Therapist — a float position covering outpatient neuro, outpatient orthopedics / upper extremity and hand, and acute care; a second position covering acute care plus outpatient
- Speech-Language Pathologist — acute care, and outpatient
- Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) — outpatient, may be filled by a PT or an OT
- Pelvic Health Therapist — outpatient, may be filled by a PT or an OT. Pelvic health experience required; no certification required
Responsibilities
· Evaluate patients and establish a plan of care appropriate to the discipline, setting and diagnosis
- Deliver treatment across acute care and outpatient caseloads, progressing patients toward functional goals as their status changes
- Educate patients and families on home programs, protected activity and, for SLP caseloads, diet modification and swallowing safety
- Supervise and direct Occupational Therapy Assistants on the OT caseload
- Document evaluations, treatment and progress in accordance with professional and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing and the wider rehabilitation team on patient outcomes
Education
- Physical Therapist — Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy
- Occupational Therapist — Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
- Speech-Language Pathologist — Master's degree minimum
Experience
- Physical Therapist — open to new graduates; one or more years of PT experience preferred
- Occupational Therapist — one or more years preferred but not required
- Speech-Language Pathologist — one or more years preferred but not required
Required Registration, Licensure or Certification
- Physical Therapist — NPTE passed, plus an active and unrestricted U.S. PT license or eligibility to obtain one
- Occupational Therapist — NBCOT certification or eligibility to sit for the examination, plus an active and unrestricted U.S. OT license or eligibility to obtain one
- Speech-Language Pathologist — active and unrestricted U.S. SLP license, or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Certified Lymphedema Therapist position — CLT certification required
- Canadian provincial registration does not transfer to the U.S.; the U.S. exam and license requirements above apply to every candidate
Visa Pathways
- TN visa — for Canadian and Mexican citizens
- H-1B visa sponsorship — for therapists in Canada who are not Canadian citizens (for example, permanent residents or work permit holders)
- EB-3 visa sponsorship — green card pathway
- Any valid EAD (Employment Authorization Document) holder
- U.S. citizens and permanent residents are accepted for every open position
Preferred
- Occupational Therapists comfortable working with and supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants
- Modified barium swallow study experience, for the acute care SLP position
- Flexible therapists willing to learn and invest in the community and its patients

Pay: $56.87-$86.16 per hour
