Staff Plus is hiring an experienced Brake Press and Shear Operator for a manufacturing client in Mississauga, ON.

This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience operating brake press and shear machines (BPS), reading engineering drawings, measuring finished parts, and producing fabricated metal components to specification.

Day Shift:

- Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Pay rate: $22.80/ hour

What You'll Do:

- Set up and operate brake press and shear machines to fabricate metal parts.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and specifications.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts into machinery.
- Adjust machine settings to complete production runs according to specifications.
- Monitor equipment during operation and make adjustments when required.
- Inspect and measure finished parts for accuracy and quality.
- Use precision measuring instruments including Vernier calipers and micrometers.
- Perform calculations required to complete job orders.
- Check machinery daily and report maintenance or equipment issues.
- Assist with improving machine setup and tooling times.
- Provide feedback regarding designs, modifications, and production requirements.




- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Work efficiently in a quick-paced manufacturing environment.

What We're Looking For:

- Minimum 1 year of brake press operating experience.
- Experience operating shear machines strongly preferred.
- At least 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Experience using Vernier calipers, micrometers, or similar measuring tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to perform machine setup and adjustments.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate parts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- College diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent CNC/manufacturing experience is an asset.
