Course Information
This course is a UNENE course (UN 603), taught in-person offsite at Durham College.
Project management has evolved into a highly valued skilled discipline, particularly for engineers, and even those pursuing strictly technical roles will inevitably work within project environments. This course provides a practical, applied introduction to the globally recognized Project Management Body of Knowledge, covering key areas such as integration, scope, cost, time, risk, human resources, stakeholder engagement, communications, and procurement. Through group discussions, case studies, and individual and team assignments—including “lessons learned” analyses from real international and domestic projects—students gain a strong understanding of project management terminology, frameworks, and disciplined processes. The course equips learners with practical tools to enhance their effectiveness and marketability, expand their project experience, and, with additional reading and professional practice, prepare for future project management certification exams.
Further information about UNENE can be found at: https://unene.ca/

Candidates who are invited for an interview or who are short-listed, and who have made a declaration of Indigenous citizenship or membership for material advantage at Western, including where required or preferred for the position, will be asked to have their declaration of Indigenous citizenship or membership affirmed through a relational accountability process, led by the Office of Indigenous Initiatives (OII), that is consistent with Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing. Please contact the OII directly for details on the affirmation processes: https://indigenous.uwo.ca/.
